Full cast of ‘Arrested Development’ confirmed to return for new series and film
The new series of  Arrested Development will feature the show’s full original cast, writer Dean Lorey has confirmed. It was confirmed late last year that the cult comedy show would be returning for both another run on television and a big screen adaptation, but there were some doubts over which members of the cast would return. However, writing on his blog Deanlorey.com, the writer confirmed that the original cast would be returning and that the show was currently being written. He also said that the show would premiere on Netflix sometime next year. He wrote under the title of ‘Arrested Development: New Season’: “We’re really doing this thing. Mitch Hurwitz, Jim Vallely and I are off writing the new season of Arrested Development to premiere on Netflix in 2013. The original cast is back. There are offices and parking spaces. We’re shooting this year. I wish I could give more specifics but, for the moment, even the schedule is being kept under wraps. But it’s happening and it’s great to be back with my pals from the show. More later as it becomes okay to release further details.”

Ron Howard gives an update on new Arrested Development.

thebluthcompany:

What is the status of Arrested Development? Do you have any idea when you might actually film that, and are you excited that it’s finally going to happen?

HOWARD: There’s not a specific start date, but Mitch Hurwitz is definitely working to quickly get it all underway. I don’t want to burden him with any release dates, but I know he’s well underway and it’s something he’s been thinking about a lot, over the previous year. It’s a huge challenge ‘cause we’re talking about 10 episodes, or almost character studies, individually featuring various characters from the Bluth family and showing where they are now and updating audiences, as we build to what we eventually expect and hope will be a movie. So, we need to re-acclimate everybody, and I think he’s got some hilarious idea about where these characters are in the world now, four or five years later, what they’ve been up to, what their frame of mind is now, and how they relate to each other. It’s pretty hilarious, outrageous stuff. Mitch is really enjoying delving back into the Bluth family.

Jason Bateman Talks 'Arrested Development' movie

thebluthcompany:

Jason Bateman - who starred in the fan favorite series as Michael Bluth - told CNN that at this point, everyone’s waiting on the studio to strike a deal with “Arrested Development” creator Mitchell Hurwitz.

“I do know they’re getting closer to making the boss’ deal and when that gets done we’ll be underway,” Bateman said. “I hope they give him everything he asks for.”

Back in March, Bateman explained to MTV News that Hurwitz was busily working on a script.

“For the very first time, [Hurwitz] sat me down last week to talk about what he’s got and where he’s going and what do I think,” Bateman said at the time. “As a fan of the show, I was vibrating with excitement that he was pulling me behind the curtain.”

And while he didn’t spill any plot points back then or last night at his movie’s premiere, Bateman has promised that the script, at least, would please fans.

“It’s everything you would want it to be and more,” he said in March. “I really hope [Hurwitz] finishes soon so we have a shot at doing it before the end of the year.”

Will Arnett talks about the ‘Arrested Development’ movie.

On the cancellation of the show:

You’re working with people and you feel like you’re doing kinda great and then they tell you, “No, you’re done.”  And you go, “Wait, what did we do wrong?”  And they’re like, “Nah, you guys were good.  It’s kinda not what we do here.”

On the A.D. movie:

We are going to make the Arrested Development movie.  Mitch Hurwitz, who is really just a brilliant, brilliant guy, is in the process right now of concocting something that’s really kind of unexpected.  That I really don’t want to give away, but I think the fans are going to be really satisfied.  If all goes well — write your congressman — if all goes well I think it’s going to be something really satisfying for people who are fans of the show.  They just want to see the characters back and interacting, and he’s come up with a cool way to do that.
